Avalanches and many-body resonances in many-body localized systems

چکیده
Many-body localization (MBL) is a mechanism by which quantum chains with strong enough disorder can avoid thermalization. Here, the authors define and locate several distinct landmarks having to do thermalization, rare many-body resonances, so-called thermal avalanches in systems that exhibit MBL. These are well separated strength of disorder, estimate where MBL breaks down asymptotically large far beyond what usually pointed as transition.

Radiative heat transfer: many-body effects
Heat transfer by electromagnetic radiation is one of the common methods of energy transfer between objects. Using the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, we have studied the effect of particle arrangement in the transmission of radiative heat in many-body systems. In order to show the effect of the structure morphology on the collective properties, the radiative heat transfer is studied and the re...
متن کاملEnergy distributions from three-body decaying many-body resonances.
We compute energy distributions of three particles emerging from decaying many-body resonances. We reproduce the measured energy distributions from decays of two archetypal states chosen as the lowest 0+ and 1+ resonances in 12C populated in beta decays. These states are dominated by sequential, through the 8Be ground state, and direct decays, respectively. These decay mechanisms are reflected ...
متن کاملDrude weight fluctuations in many-body localized systems
We numerically investigate the distribution of Drude weights D of many-body states in disordered onedimensional interacting electron systems across the transition to a many-body localized phase. Drude weights are proportional to the spectral curvatures induced by magnetic fluxes in mesoscopic rings. They offer a method to relate the transition to the many-body localized phase to transport prope...
متن کاملOut-of-Time-Ordered Correlator in Many-Body Localized Systems
In many-body localized systems, propagation of information forms a light cone that grows logarithmically with time. However, local changes in energy or other conserved quantities are expected to spread only within a finite distance. Is it possible to detect the logarithmic light cone using local observables, starting from thermal states or eigenstates? Here we show that this is indeed the case,...
متن کاملEntanglement in Many-Body Systems
The recent interest in aspects common to quantum information and condensed matter has prompted a flory of activity at the border of these disciplines that were far distant untill few years ago. Numerous interesting questions have been addressed so far. Here we review an important part of this field, the properties of the entanglement in many-body systems. We discuss the zero and finite temperat...
